Situation
This client was a start-up company in the marine industry with a unique new product offering for a new market sector. Its product development was nearly complete and they had started marketing the product aggressively prior to availability. Orders had been taken and forecasts had been put in for seasonal manufacturing. The manufacturing output was delayed and customers cancelled orders. Manufacturing was not throttled back and an excessive inventory was building. Investors now needed a detailed understanding of what was happened together with an action plan to recover. The MD’s credibility was on the line.

Solution Provided
A detailed analysis was undertaken to understand what marketing actions had been taken, product viability, market strength and what flexibility had been built into the manufacturing agreement with the out-sourced manufacturer. A detailed and credible layout of the problem set was developed with an action plan and recommendation for each section of the problem analysis. At this stage, the client was happy to face his investors with his detailed analysis of the problem with detailed and rational countermeasure program.
