A UK technology SME wished to set up distribution for its products in Japan
Client Requirement
Phase 1: Commence a program of analysis using the UKTI’s EMRS scheme to understand competitor status and routes to market, to understand typical distributor practices and types, be in a position to recommend an approach to getting started (next project)
Solution Provided
Developed, assigned and managed a program of market research via an external research agency to gather specifics. Additionally worked with British Consulate in Tokyo via the UKTI’s OMIS program to identify and set up meetings with typical product users to understand buying preferences/requirements and named sources of client’s product type.
Based on the outcome of the above, provided a plan of approach to the client in order to set up the next phase - performing a search for distributor partners based on clearly defined specifics from the above phase.
